Dr. Irina Skosireva

Dr. Irina Skosireva graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto at 2014 and then successfully completed General Practice Residency in London Health Sciences Centre. She also holds a B.Sc. (Hon) and a M.Sc. in Microbiology from McMaster University. Dr. Skosireva is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the York Region Dental Society. She possesses a strong passion for providing excellent treatment and continues to refine her skills through the completion of continuing education courses. At present, she is enrolled in the Implant Residency at Toronto Institute of Dental Excellence. In her leisure time, Dr. Skosireva enjoys spending time with her family, reading books, meditating, exercising, and travelling. She is fluent in both Russian and English and highly values the opportunity to provide comprehensive dental care to the patients

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I will be delighted to serve you as your dentist. Besides providing good quality dentistry, I like connecting with my patients and knowing them better, which helps me to better understand and address their concerns. I also focus on caries prevention and patient's clear understanding of the causes of certain conditions that they might be experiencing. I believe that it is as important, if not more important, to treat the cause of the caries disease and tooth loss as it is to treat the condition itself.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am proud that we provide the comprehensive treatments, that is, we do all kinds of treatments, including, but not limited to, fillings, crowns and bridges, veneers, root canals, extractions, implants, dentures, invisalign, tooth whitening, night guards, and much more. Moreover, our practice is a newly built facility with the up-to-date dental technology and a modern look

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

To be honest, I love doing a variety of procedures and don't limit myself to providing just a few. This is what I like about dentistry: there are so many different treatments that we, as dentists, perform, that it never gets boring. But, certainly, one should be skillful enough to perform certain procedures. Therefore, I enroll and invest in my continuing education courses year around. My recent passion is implant dentistry, and I am currently enrolled in the Implant Residency at the Institute of Dental Excellence. I also equally enjoy treating adults and children (likely because I have a child myself :-).
