Dr. Joyce Turner - Periodontist

Dr. Turner obtained her BS in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. Upon graduation, she attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry with a Health Professional Scholarship from the United States Navy. Dr. Turner began her Navy career immediately after graduation and reported to Naval Dental Center Far East, Yokosuka, Japan to begin her Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. After completion of her overseas tour, she reported to Naval Dental Center Southwest, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego as an Assistant Dental Officer. From there, she deployed on the first ever humanitarian effort aboard the USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), as part of Operation Unified Assistance relief efforts following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in the Pacific Ocean. Upon returning from deployment, she began her Periodontics residency at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School and received her Specialty Certificate and Master of Science degree from George Washington University. Later she returned as faculty of the Naval Postgraduate Dental School for the periodontics residency program. Returning to San Diego, she served as the Director, 13th Dental Company, 1st Dental Battalion, Naval Dental Center, 1st Marine Logistics Group Camp Pendleton, I Marine Expeditionary Force. Her final tour was at Naval Station San Diego, Naval Medical Center San Diego as a staff Periodontist/AEGD mentor. Dr. Turner is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and International College of Dentists. She maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology and Implantology, International College of Dentists, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society. Dr. Turner loves working at Flawless Dental Studio because she is able to collaborate with expert professionals to provide unmatched dental care. After traveling the world with the Navy, Dr. Turner and her husband now call San Diego home. They enjoy everyday activities with their three children and love exploring by camping in their RV.
