Newmarket Family Dentistry

Unfortunately, my experience with Newmarket Family Dentistry was not positive from start to finish. When I arrived, I was asked to sit and complete paperwork. During this time, the receptionist remained on a phone call with what appeared to be a construction company for nearly 20 minutes, while I waited without acknowledgment. After that, I was taken in for X-rays. This process took approximately 30 minutes because the technician seemed unfamiliar with the equipment and had to retake the same images multiple times. When the dentist finally saw me, she reviewed my X-rays and initially stated that she would postpone the cleaning due to another patient arriving. I explained that I had specifically booked a cleaning appointment and that the delays were not caused by me. She then offered to proceed but mentioned it would need to be done quickly. I clearly stated that I was not comfortable with rushed care. Although she reassured me, the situation already felt compromised. At checkout, I was charged $632 for X-rays and what was listed as a half-time cleaning. This was surprising given the limited service provided. When I asked for clarification, the response felt defensive, and I was made to feel uncomfortable discussing this in front of other patients. A few days later, I was contacted to book a follow-up appointment. I shared my dissatisfaction and was told that Dr. Goulnush would call me on Friday. I never received that call. On a positive note, the clinic itself is very clean, and the equipment appears modern and high-tech. I understand this may be a newer clinic, and I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that improvements can be made in patient communication, time management, and overall care experience.

The team here is very friendly - they were able to fit me in last minute in december when all the other local dentists were booked up.
