Dr. Stephen M. Kay graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto in 1994 with an Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then pursued his dental training at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. Following graduation, Dr. Kay completed a hospital based dental residency programme at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. There he received advanced training in anesthesia including IV sedation and use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), as well as experience in the management of dental trauma, operating room dentistry, and care of special needs patients. In 1999 Dr. Stephen Kay returned to Toronto to start a general and cosmetic based practice. Dr. Stephen Kay is also a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Department of Periodontics. He is a licensed dentist in both Ontario through the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and in Illinois through the Illinois State Board of Dentistry. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, where he serves on the Executive Council, and the Academy of General Dentistry where he is pursuing Fellowship status.
