Dr. Saira Paredes

Dr. Saira has always had a commitment for education and giving back to her community. Growing up in different countries (Peru, Colombia, and the United States), she has embraced challenges and opportunities as a way to explore her passions, dentistry being one of them. Dr. Saira first became interested in dentistry while living in her native Peru. There, she observed the disparity in dental care and how the lack of dental services has an impact on quality of life. She then decided to try her best while embracing education opportunities so she, one day, could give back to her community and make a positive change. This inspiration led her to complete her undergraduate studies in Brevard, North Carolina and later a Master of Science in Public Health at Johns Hopkins. Throughout her education, she was the recipient of several scholarships that involved opportunities to learn and work in Capitol Hill, Baltimore City Government, and the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as traveling throughout the world as part of outreach projects. Dr. Saira is glad to now call Toronto her home as this city has opened doors for her to finally fulfill her dream of becoming a dentist. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto where she has participated in extracurricular and mentorship activities and is currently involved in research projects and local dental organizations.
