About

Dr. Natalie Archer believes a trip to the dentist should be a warm and relaxing experience and so she has engineered a unique approach to 'patient-centered' dentistry. All three Archer Dental clinics are designed to provide patients with relaxing, spa-like medical treatments in comfortable settings with modern amenities. Dr. Archer obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2001 from Dalhousie University where she was the recipient of the Brasseler Award for the Faculty of Dentistry. Subsequently, she completed her Certification in Intravenous Conscious Sedation at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. In 2014, Natalie worked hard to "Take the Bite Out of Elder Abuse" through her Dental Elder Abuse Response (D.E.A.R.) Project, which was funded by the federal government's New Horizons for Seniors Program. You may have seen her on TV or in print magazines related to this subject and other dental stories. Today, Dr Natalie Archer regularly consults with several local media outlets and organizations including Canadian Family Magazine, the Canadian Bar Association, Rogers TV and the Health Council of Canada - to raise awareness of dental elder abuse as well as the link between one's oral health and overall health.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Archer Dental goes beyond what's expected by offering the unexpected - hot towels, lavender pillows, and lots of other high tech pleasures that will make your trip to the dentist a more pleasant experience than you were probably expecting. We care about each and every patient that comes through our door and we strive to ensure they leave our office more confident about themselves and their smiles than before their appointment. Everything in our clinics has been thoroughly tried and tested with my incredible teams who pamper patients and deliver that type of unparalleled efficiency that creates trust. I'm also the proud recipient of the Fellowship in the International Academy for Dental-Facial Esthetics which is awarded to dentists who have distinguished themselves in their profession.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

Even though I consider myself a well-rounded dentist who thoroughly enjoys the day-to-day life in our clinics by meeting with patients from any background, I focus on treating people with dental anxiety, as well as seniors and those with mobility issues. This requires great skill and ingenuity to provide the care they deserve. I also have a vested interest in dental policy and preventive care. That is why I served for many years on the Board of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and was the organization’s Vice President from March 2011-2012.

What are you proud of in your practice?

Something that makes me very proud is that all three Archer Dental clinics have good reviews because of our experienced staff, attractive aesthetics and advanced equipment. All three locations are able to diagnose and treat just about any type of dental issue. Archer Dental Baby Point is fully accessible and designed for geriatric care and patients with mobility issues

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I am very passionate about the special needs of our elderly, particularly with respect to dental care and its impact on their overall health. For ten years, I practiced mobile Geriatric Dentistry throughout Ontario in over one hundred and thirty five different Long Term Care facilities, nursing homes, hospitals and independent residences. Furthermore, I have frequently spoken at medical conferences related to health care for seniors and the special skills this requires. Also, I have been invited by a variety of community leaders to offer opinions related to geriatric oral health.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit with archer dental. Their facilities were clean and high tech, the staff was very helpful when it came to navigating insurance issues and the dentists made sure to only do the necessary procedures for my checkup to ensure I wasn’t overcharged. Overall high quality and would definitely recommend

From the moment I walked in the door, I felt instantly welcomed by the receptionist, Amanda. Then I met the assistant, Honey, who was a darling and put me at ease. Dr. Pouriya is impossible not to love, is hilarious, genuine, warm, and listens to his patients’ needs. The whole team clearly love working together and made it impossible to be nervous or have a bad time. I left with the cleanest teeth and feeling well cared for. Fantastic team!

First, the office itself is brightly lit and cheerful. Not the kind of "Bright" that is offensive, but a very natural sunlight type of bright lighting. Very comforting. Staff- Entire Staff- Receptionist, Hygienist, Dentist were all very welcoming and made you totally comfortable. They were not just trying to get more money from you by suggesting things that are not needed like many dentists do. They are honest, they show you pictures and explain exactly what they are doing and why it is needed. I actually am looking forward to going back again- which has never happened to me when going to the dentist in general.

I love how the doctors are very thorough here. Nothing like a fresh and clean teeth after my visit. I can't wait for my next appointment!

It is such a pleasant experience at Archer Dental, everyone is knowledgeable, caring, and friendly. The check-in process is quick and within minutes I was able to see a hygenist. Alysha is so wonderful and I would come back to see her again. Archer Dental makes going to the dentist less of a daunting task especially for someone like me who is terrified of any dental work. I've nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Archer, she runs a tight ship!

Overall, I have found Archer Dental Little Italy to be great. Everyone there has been very friendly and kind and I will definitely continue going there for dental work/cleaning/etc. I am not someone who has any real difficulty with dental work, but I think if I were I would find Archer Dental to be very accommodating and easy. The dentist was very kind and explained everything in a good amount of detail. Easily one of my best dental experiences and I can't find any faults with the place.

This is a fancier looking dental office than I'm used to, but has all the comfort of my old dentist's. My teeth feel great, but that's not unusual. I was really struck though by the dental hygienist's ability to make the functions of decay (sadly) very clear to me in a non judgmental way. For whatever reason, language around "plaque" never spooked me into stellar oral care, but it was clear that she had all the facts, and she shared them in a very accessible (maybe even inviting?) way. Proof will be in the pudding at next appointment, I suppose.

Beautiful, clean office in a convenient location with genuinely friendly staff. Checkup with the dentist was informative without feeling at all pressured about anything and it was the least uncomfortable cleaning I've ever had. They even opened an hour early on short notice to get me in for a cleaning before the new year.

I was worried about going back to the dentist and had not been for a long time. I have past memories of it being a painful and shameful experience. Very happy with the staff at Archer--they were very gentle and understanding--I feel a lot better after going(both physically and mentally) and have two more appointments scheduled.
