Dr. Howard Tong

I have been a patient of Dr. Tong for a long time. My family still visit his clinic even though we have moved downtown a couple of years ago. He is caring, professional and very gentle. He is awesome with the needle which I hate it with my previous dentist. Trust me, with Dr. Tong, with his technique, I don't even know he gave me an injection. My kids love him because he always make them feel very comfortable and lots of fun in the chair. Believe it or not, my daughter Lauren always asks when is her next dental checkup appointment. As far as appointments are concerned, we never had any issues all these years. His front desk girls and especially the office manager is very helpful with appointments.

Dr Tong is a bad dentist! !! I have heard him on many occasions talk about his staff or personally blame them for things that go wrong In the office. Also I find that he is always at the front desk where his receptionist are. His wife the office manager isn't so great either all she cares about us making sure you get switched and I actually am tired of that Dr Tong then would act like he doesn't know what's going on when acutely he does . Not someone I could recommend in the future .

I have been a long term patient with Dr.Tong(14 yrs). I have got to know his staff very well over time. This "individual" who keeps writing negative comments on Nov11/6 has a "personal, psychological problem" not dental. This individual is looking for someone to "blame" with no evidence. Choice of words like " assume" is totally irresponsible. If this person cannot remember appointment time & has no $$ to pay dental bills then go to the government for HELP!! I have known Dr. Tong current staff for more than 5 years and 4 of them have gone on maternity leave NOT "turnover". I loved his staff/Dr. T is a great/knowledgeable/dedicated/hardworking dentist. My hubby had switched over to see Dr. T and left his dentist coz he is very experienced and practice current dentistry. He shows great care and respect to all his patients especially towards seniors. I have "seen" it at my own appt. I have never had problems with appt or time. This negative-minded "person" should see a DOCTOR for MEDS

Appointments are very poorly managed and organized. One staff confirms the appointment and writes it down on the visiting card,when customer calls back to confirm their upcoming appointment, the receptionist plays dumb for not finding any appointment under your name !! Then she pretends courteous to accommodate you on same time but little change in time frame; only for her to call back a couple days later to confirm a brand new/different time !!!

As a long-term patient of Dr. Tong, I am sickened by the faulty claims made in this forum!!! I have been a client of Dr. Tong ever since he started working at his current practice. Not only is he knowledgeable and great at what he does, he is very thorough and cares about his patients 200%. My whole family sees him regularly. Yes, he sometimes does run late, but frankly, I am sure this is an inevitable challenge faced by many other dental offices as well (I.e. patients arrive late, emergencies,etc). Trust me! I worked in this industry before and running late is a common challenge for many offices and the reasons behind it often has very little to do with the dentist himself!! Finally, while this forum (and many others) serves as a platform for patients to share feedback on their doctor, posting comments to attack not only the dentist but also his family is UNACCEPTABLE!!. This is an IRRESPONSIBLE ACT!!! This type of forum was meant for constructive feedback, not for NONSENSE!!!!

My name is K. I have worked for Dr. Tong as a clinical manager for over 9 yrs. I have worked in the field for 25 yrs. When I saw these "individual" comments dated dec of 2012 and earlier, I was shocked at how some people in the world have "nothing better to do in their life" than to use the internet to make things up that are "rude" and with "no supporting evidence". These people talking about a doctor's wife are --SICK AND SHOULD SEE A MEDICAL DOCTOR FOR TREATMENT. Most of these comments in these "ratings" are inconsistent and lacking EVIDENCE when I read them carefully. One of my job descriptions in Dr. Tong's office is to ORDER OFFICE SUPPLIES. I oversee all the invoices daily and I am the person to reimburse other staff member(s) when they bought something for the office (which happens rarely). In fact, Dr. Tong brings in office supplies for our office himself in emergency situations. Everyone in our office gets paid.

I am a new patient with Dr.Tong and he is a very professional dentist. I visited about 3 times in last year and I found the enviroment is quiet comfortable, staffs are friendly and professional, equipments are pretty new. The service is excellent !! No compliant at all. I will definitely will go back for next scaling.

Dr Tong is not a good dentist, not is he a good person. He has no respect for his employees, his patients or his family. He keeps his employees behind work, talking to them about things that are not important at all just to make them upset when his priority is to go home and spend time with his family.He uses his employees by asking them to spend their own money to buy supplies for the office and yes he does do illegal things with dental insurance. If your looking for a dentist, do not go to him, trust me and if your an assistant looking for a job, trust me, do not work for him. He will keep you behind work for a very long time talking to you about things that are not important at all and he will ask you to spend your money on office supplies and he wont reiumburse you unless you ask for your money back. He lies and talks behind all his employees back. If his wife is still married to him, I would be shocked. I dont know how she tolerates his behaviour.

Dr Tong is probably the WORST dentist I have ever been too! He has NO respect for any of his employees and absolutely NO respect for his patients. He keeps you waiting over an hr before he sees you. Dr Tong double books himself ALL THE TIME! myself and many other patients ave walked out of his office due to lack of compassion and havng to wait hrs on end! He always over charges people who have insurance because hes is a greedy ****! He once chanrged me for something I didnt even have done. Dr Tong and his wife,the office manager,always change appointment times and NEVER tell theatient that THEY HAVE CHANGED THE TIMES!! they always write me a little card and then say "no you have the wrong time"..liars! Many times I have heard Dr Tong say his employees dont know what they are doin or "dont worry her head isnt here shes gettin married" he once called a patient a ****! Save yourself the tie and energy DONT GO TO HIM!!!!!!!!!

Dr Tong is very helpful and knowledgeable--he explains everyting thoroughly. The office has all the modern equipment and techniques. He is also certified to do Invisalign. The office is efficient and well run, everyone is friendly and professional.

I was reading the previous comments and and just have to laugh. I agree to all the recent ones. This doctor is a laughing stock. He does talk a lot! And their equipment are so old. My tooth was not really fixed that I had to go to another dentist to have it fixed. THIS DENTIST IS ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED. Look for another Dentist somewhere else.

One thing is for sure with this dentist, if you want to wait 1 or 2 hours from your appointment then he is the doctor for you. he also was unable to fix my teeth. very poor workmanship. also watch for insurance charges. absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED!

I don't like this dentist. He let's me wait for a very long time. I also noticed that their dental equipment are very old. Very outdated. And yes I agree with some of the comments here that he talks a lot. I also never went back to their clinic at Kipling Dental. I definitely do not recommend this dentist. Look for some other good dentists, there are a lot of them everywhere.

Stayed on as a patient from former dentist (Dr Lee) and I have to say it's night and day - Dr Tong is self-absorbed and running behind. I've also had issues with the way he handles billing to my insurance company which borders on fraud. I'd watch how your insurance is being billed if I were you.

Dr. Tong is a wonderful dentist. He's very friendly and funny, and also very knowledgeable and helpful. The only problem is he never seems to take me in on time. They also like to change my appointment times around after I've booked them. Overall though, Dr. Tong and his staff are highly recommended.

Dr. Tong is a great doctor but I've never been taken on time. When myself or my husband has had an emergency we've never been able to get in right away to see Dr. Tong. I find his prices are extremely high also but he is very knowledgeable.

I found the office VERY filthy and was kept waiting over an hour past my scheduled appointment. I noticed what I thought looked like blood? on the handle of the overhead lamp. Receptionist was condescending and snobby when asked about delay.

Dr. Tong is an extremely helpful and friendly doctor. He shows great care and is very conscientious about his work. He is detail oriented and takes great pride in his work.
