Dr. Alida Andersen

Dr. Alida Andersen is a caring and devoted dentist. She works hard to provide the highest quality and standard of dental care, using the latest technology for her patients. Dr. Andersen completed her Honours in Bachelors of Science degree (B.Sc. Honours) from the University of Toronto in 2005. She then received her degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at University of Western Ontario in 2009. Besides her professional achievements, she has always believed in maintaining a balanced lifestyle, which has led to her numerous involvements in her community during the past several years.

As important as that is, of course, treating the patient as a whole individual is the key. I see each of my patients as a person with a unique situation, personality and needs. Therefore, I try to help each individual achieve his/her oral health goals in a way that is most suitable for him/her. For instance, once I do an examination on a patient, I relay all the information and make him/her aware of the dental and oral findings. Then, I explain different options of treatment (if any) and, together with the patient, we come up with the best dental treatment that is most suitable, while considering all factors. The patients are well aware of all the work I do. They get the chance to ask questions, go over concerns, and are involved in making a difference with their dental health. There are no secrets and rarely ever any unforeseen surprises. My priorities are to ensure each patient is taken care of as best as possible, and to provide top quality and the most comprehensive dental treatment, while keeping the patient as comfortable and happy as possible.

All areas of dentistry, including (but not limited to): comprehensive or emergency exams; direct restorations, crowns and bridges; endodontics (root canal treatments)

What are you proud of in your practice?

For many people, going to the dentist in not a pleasant experience for many different reasons: fear of pain, unexpected treatments, cost, etc. We're used to hearing the common statement "I don't like going to the dentist". Over the years, I have been able to change the view and dental experience of many anxious patients - those whose bad dental experiences have left them with deep fear and dislike of going to see a dentist. One of the things I am most proud of, is seeing the transformation of negative feelings, distrust and fear, into positive interactions. Erasing those deep fears, gaining patient's trust, making them relax and comfortable, and seeing them leave with a big smile on their faces, is truly rewarding. Many of my patients have conveyed their positive experience by their high score ratings, or referring their family members and friends to our clinic - which is always a great compliment.
