Dr. Kelvin C. Choi started his South San Francisco dental practice more than 25 years ago, after graduating from the School of Dentistry at the University of the Pacific in 1977. He has also taught in the fixed prosthodontics department at UOP from 1977 to 1980. He holds dental licenses in both California (since 1977) and in Hong Kong (since 1979). Dr. Choi’s high standards produce quality dentistry that has helped numerous patients achieve their life-changing “dream smile.” Dr. Choi is the father of four children. The eldest is working in Hong Kong and the other three chose to go into dentistry, including Dr. Alexandra Choi, and Dr. Philip Choi, who have joined the practice. Dr. Choi is an active member in his Christian church and enjoys going to the gym, cycling, and spending time with his family.
I've been going to Dr. Choi's office for almost 5 years now and I can say I am very satisfied with my treatment and service received here. They always give me an estimate of what my insurance will pay vs. what I have to pay after the insurance pays. They also are very gentle whenever they filled in my cavities or cleaned my teeth. They also give you gift cards for referring patients to them as appreciation for telling other people about their business. I'm very happy with Dr. Choi's dental work.

I am a patient of Dr. Choi along with my husband and 4 children.. I cannot say enough positive things about his practice. Aside from having a very clean and professional environment, his staff is nothing less than amazing. Alicia , one of the coordinators at the desk is very knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. My son had contacted Dr. Choi to donate in his toy drive for SFFD. Dr. Choi was very quick to respond and donate gift cards. His generosity and kindness towards causes such as these shows the type of man behind the business that I would want to continue to support. Another associate, Christian was quick to order the gift cards for us. Every single one of my experiences/interactions with Dr. Choi have been above par. Anyone looking for a professional and knowledgeable dentist with a tremendous staff should look into a visit to Dr. Choi's office.

Very thorough exam. Showed me xrays and photos of my teeth, then explained what was on the xrays and photos. Excellent detailed cleaning. I was impressed that Dr Choi and his two adult children are all dentists in this office.

I had my first visit at Smile Dental Clinic for routine check up and cleaning and was very happy with my overall experience. Leilani and Cindy were very friendly and highly professional with their dealings. Dr. Choi was very thorough and made me feel comfortable. I'll be back for sure!

Dr. Choi and the team at South San Francisco Dental Care gave an incredible bowling party last night. I am proud to have been a patient for almost 7 years. It all started on the night that Barack Obama won the 2008 presidential election. I was scheduled to go to a big victory party in San Rafael. Instead I was sick at home with a very bad tooth ache. The next morning I called 800- Dentist and was referred to Dr. Choi and South San Francisco Dental Care. I got an appointment the day that I called. I came in the afternoon and got a wonderful feeling the minute I opened the door to the dental offices. Everyone was warm and friendly. Dr. Choi personally examined me. He was thorough, professional and honest. He stabalized me and got me pain killers. He referred me to an excellent dental surgeon for the actual extraction of a wisdom tooth. He also asked me to come back for an in depth examination by a dental specialist. Dr. Choi impressed me with his technical competence, integrity,and warm and friendly manner. I got the feeling that he is a man who genuinely cares about other people. I got my tooth pulled and started to be a regular patient. As a natural consequence of aging, my teeth started to wear out. Over the years I have had to have several of the dreaded root canals. Dr. Choil and his team have always done a superb job each time one of these procedures had to be done. They always do more than is expected. Over and above all of this good work, when you are a patient at South San Francisco Dental Care you come to feel that you are part of a wonderful extended family. I cannot say enough about the care and service that has consistently been extended to me over the last 20 years by Dr. Choi and staff. I am probably the most demanding patient of them all (on top of having high anxiety about going to the dentist!). Dr. Choi has never balked at my repeated requests and has always gone out of his way to make me feel super comfortable. At 44 years old, my teeth and the overall health of my mouth have not been better! I contribute it all to the detailed care that Dr. Choi and team consistently extends. I had some concerns over having a crown replaced recently. Dr. Choi and team went to the extent of making sure the prior lab technician was identified to ensure the color consistency on my new/old crowns was a perfect match. I am beyond pleased with the end results! Bottomline, this is a state of the art dentist office with a highly trained/dedicated team and superb client/patient services!

Now I am almost 4 year siwth Dr. Choi and a most satisfied client. He is a real gentleman. He works for every penny that he earns. His team is well trained and very professional. He makes sure the work is done right every time. He also has a lot of empathy for the patient. He's the best!
