Alki Dental

I had a fantastic initial appointment to establish care and have my teeth cleaned. As a new(ish) father, I appreciated the ease and efficiency of the experience from start to finish (which I've detailed below), and I highly recommend Alki Dental. I discovered, scheduled, and was able to quickly and easily submit my insurance and the required forms from my phone browser in advance. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived, and promptly brought back for X-Rays. The Dental Hygienist was clearly customer focused and knowledgable; regularly explaining what he was about to do and checking in to see how I was doing or if I had any questions. He completed polishing my teeth and the Dentist took over immediately; discussing my oral hygiene habits and completing the cleaning without any pain or discomfort. The Dentist took the time to then show me how I could floss slightly differently to address some areas that were showing slight demineralization due to crowding, which I found valuable and will be implementing. I was thanked for coming in and handed the classic to-go-bag of travel size dental hygiene supplies, before heading to the front desk to check out. I was informed my dental insurance covered 100% of the costs, easily scheduled my next cleaning, and received text and email reminders to easily add it to my personal calendar.

Receptionists were friendly and most helpful. Hygienist was professional, competent and efficient. Dr. Chi actually did my cleaning so that he could better evaluate my teeth and specific dental needs. He clearly explained his impressions, taking extra time to answer my many questions. I was most pleased with the care that I received at Alki Dental.

It was good, but some details about next options were missing

I visited Alki for my first appointment (new patient), and in total it was a 20 minute visit with 5-10 of those minutes being spent on taking new X-Rays that I don't believe the dentist even looked at - so many x-rays were taken! The appointment felt incomplete/rushed and I had concerns about cavities and receding gum lines (which had been tracked by my previous dentist) and spoke up to the dentist and hygienist but was told that everything looked fine and that I should just brush less hard. My teeth feel clean and what they did do felt good, but I'm used to appointments lasting closer to an hour+, not 10-15 minutes of actual dentist/hygienist time.

I have severe anxiety and they were extremely kind and accommodating. The staff explained everything thoroughly and went at a pace I was comfortable with all while being very gentle and professional.
