I am a Bay Area native — I received my degree in Biology at San Jose State University. Afterwards, I finished dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco and lived for 10 years in San Francisco. I am married and have two little boys, who are 6 and 3. We moved away from San Francisco because our adorable one bedroom apartment was just a little too small for our family of four. We now live on the same street I grew up on, down the street from my mom and dad. Family is very important to me. I look forward to my Fridays off, when I get "time in" with my 3-year-old in the morning and we pick up food for the 5-year-old and meet him at school for lunch! We have extended family dinners twice a week. We are really lucky and both grandmas are awesome chefs. In my spare time I enjoy photography, eating out, and playing video games. As a dentist, my background is in public health. I enjoy working with kids, adults, and the elderly. I have a lot of experience working with teeth that are severely compromised and have seen teeth in almost every state imaginable. I strongly believe that dental decay and gum disease is largely preventable and try very hard to educate patients so we can stabilize existing disease and hopefully prevent future problems. In general, I tend to be very conservative in my treatment recommendations. I believe that every person is different and special. Everyone should be comfortable and informed when they make decisions regarding their health and their body. It is important to me that each patient is ready for the treatment before we begin.

I was referred here by a friend and I’m glad I came. Dr Toy’s bedside manner was amazing. During my exam, she even took pictures of my teeth to show me the cavities in my mouth—that’s a first. My cleaning was done by the hygienist, I think her name was Sheryl? She was very gentle and just a total sweetheart. I would highly recommend this office.

Dr. Toy is friendly and professional. She cares deeply about the comfort of her patients and adjusts her style to make them feel more comfortable. I have anxiety about going to the dentist and I recently had a crown replaced and Dr. Toy made me feel at ease because she took the time to explain what was happening and offering up here opinion as well as taking time to ensure the crown fit well. My previous crown was extremely painful and didn’t fit well (done by a different dentist) so I especially appreciated the extra care taken by Dr. Toy.

Dr. Toy is great! Dr. Toy is very honest and doesn’t ever try to sell you anything. Actually, I asked her about replacing some of my old silver fillings and she says she only does that when there is something wrong with it. I needed to get a deep cleaning because it had been a long time since I had been to the dentist. Dr. Toy spent time explaining to me why I needed the deep cleaning and the process of gum disease and bone loss, it made me feel a lot better to know about why my gums had been so irritated. I was kind of nervous about getting the deep cleaning, but it was a lot easier than I expected. Dr. Toy and her hygienist Cheryl, are very gentle. I really like that they take their time to explain what they are doing before they do it. I was nervous about the pain, but barely felt anything, and I am super sensitive for all needles. My gums and teeth feel a lot better now. I would highly recommend this office!

Dr. Toy and her staff are great! She was able to detect a problem with my tooth that needed a root canal and offered her professional opinion. She's approachable, direct, and solution oriented. I definitely recommend going to her for questions and to be seen!
