I was treated at this office so horribly that I must write a comment. There is so much politics and nonsense at this office it's insane. All they care about is money. They treat patients with fake smiles and he seems all so gentle and sweet yet he is super aggressive and sneaky. I have had horrible pain since the treatment.Never again. I think the nice comments must be written by his own family - AVOID!

Dr. Kataria and his staff are caring, competent and always show compassion to their patients. I have been a patient for many years and the Doctors and staff, many who have been at the clinic for many years are always very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kataria and Oakville Dental to my friends and family.

I had the worst experience with Dr. KatariaI came to Dr Kataria to get a filling done. After a check up I've been told that my problem is very serious and I need to get a root canal done. Dr Kataria told me that my situation is very serious and there is absolutely no way that I can solve a problem by getting a filling done. I've received a very high and overpriced estimate for a root canal and a crown.During our appointment Dr Kataria left the room twice to see other patients. He wasn't friendly and it was obvious that he was only interested in your money.I ended up booking an appointment for the procedure, but my intuition told me to get a second opinion.Another dentist was VERY surprised when she heard about me needing a root canal. All I had to do was a simple filling which I managed to got done without anesthesia. It's been a month and everything with my tooth is perfect, I don't have a dental coverage, so Dr. Kataria would have ripped me off a good $2000 -3000. This is a huge amount of money for someone who is a single mom.I am absolutely disgusted with this dentist. It's a shame that people like him are getting their licenses and in the end end up hurting and ripping people off.Not only I would lose a few thousands dollars, but I would also have to go through stress, unnecessary pain, take antibiotics, and time off work to attend these appointments.Shame on you, "Dr". Kataria.

I have been a patient at Oakville Dental for about three years and have met pretty much all the people there throughout my visits. My teeth were cleaned by all the hygienists, my fillings placed by Dr Kataria, my appointments booked and payments taken by the receptionists - all these with smiles, friendliness and professionalism. I was scrolling through the comments and came across some negative ones. I certainly empathize with the frustrations of those comments' owners, but here are some reality checks: dentistry is expensive (social problem, not a dental one), medical procedures sometimes fail (otherwise all disease and even death would be eradicated), dentists just like doctors can have different opinions(realistically, if a second opinion tells you exactly the opposite than the first one, then both doctors have 50% chance of being right.)For those who wonder, I am a bit above average dentally educated because my wife is a dentist and she referred me to Oakville Dental.

I visited this dental office to have my teeth cleaned by Lisa, one of the hygienists. I hate having my teeth cleaned because my gums are so sensitive, but Lisa was skillful; gentle yet effective. The dental assistant Shirley was helpful and friendly, and they both helped me feel relaxed throughout the process. All in all, I received a great cleaning and was out within the hour. I'm not huge on visiting the dentist overall, , but I can honestly say this was a pleasant and anxiety-free experience.

This is my experience, I think he is a good doctor but has lost perspective of his profession. I have had root canal and crown from him. His work is definately good but he and his staff cares too much about money. They treat their practice like future shop, too pushy. Leaves too many calls as if there is one person calling zillion times and when you dont pick up phone they call as unknown caller. I am leaving his practice as I don't have insurance anymore and he knows but still tries to make money out of our family too. He told me that I had two cavities and my daughter had two cavities. I was kind of not sure so got second opinion and guess what there were no cavities. I am never going there after reading another review that this happended to another person.

Nothing but negative experiences with Kataria and his dental office. I was inundated with appointment reminders (ie. would receive multiple e-mails plus phone calls for the same appointment). The office seems to have a high turnover of dentists, most who seem incompetent. Dr. Toth (fresh out of school) couldn’t properly read xrays and told me I had a number of fillings that needed replaced. I demanded a second opinion and Dr. Kataria confirmed that the fillings were fine. If that’s the case, how is he permitting Dr. Toth to see patients alone? If you can't read xrays, you are not qualified to be my dentist. I have since found a new dentist and even leaving Oakville Dental was a hassle – office staff told me they sent xrays to my new dentist but when I followed up, no xrays had been sent.

Dr. Kataria is an excellent dentist. He performed an urgent extraction on my wisdom tooth with the outmost care. His technique was great and I didn't feel any pain during the procedure. His professionalism and knowledge is beyond any dentist I have ever had, which is why I travel specially from downtown Toronto to Oakville for my regular appointments.

Performed a root canal and subsequent crown. I paid cash for the crown. During the drilling of the root the drill bit/file that cleans out the roots broke off deep in the root of one of my molars. I was very concerned and was told b that it’s ok and it’s a sterile instrument and it is ok to leave it in. I trusted his opinion on this and he subsequently fit me for a new crown, headded the new crown, which was miss-sized too large. Months later the root canal he performed and the sterile file /drill bit caused and impaction/infection inside the root under my brand new crown. He then confirmed the infection and referred me to a specialist free of charge. This procedure should have been to extract the bit but instead the cheaper option was performed which involved drilling a big hole in my new crown and attempt to remove the bit, this was not possible with this procedure and the root was cleaned and repacked with the drill bit still in my head and a wonderful new filling in my new crown.

Dr. Arvind Kataria recommended I have 2 teeth filled due to cavities. I did not have the dental work done as he had already maxed out my insurance for the year. He reminded me that I needed this work done the following year. Instead of having the work done I got a second opinion. To my surprise I had no cavities to fill. It has been several years now with my new dentist and Dr. Arvind Kataria's cavities have yet to be seen on x-ray. Great dentist if you like fillings put in your teeth where no cavities existed!!! Get a second opinion.

While this dentist comes off very nice, his work is terrible. He is very gentle yet sneaky and will over-treat. The girl who speaks to you about major treatments is rude and always seems annoyed. The only nice people here are the hygienists. Not going here again.

The staff at this office are usually polite and professional, but VERY aggressive on the business side of things. We are currently looking for a new dental office to go to, one that shifts the focus away from money towards more quality service.

We have been going to Dr. Kataria for about 15 years. While he and his staff are very polite and professional, and the office is quite nice, I believe that his sometimes aggressive treatment has cost us 3 teeth that had to be removed in the end. He is also VERY expensive (above provincial recommended rates for many procedures). We are searching for a new dentist.
