Sanjay Suri

Dr Sunjay Suri has been providing orthodontic treatment to children and adults for the last 16 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a certified specialist in orthodontics. Dr Suri completed his orthodontics education and training at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India in 1998 where he was the proud recipient of the coveted Kataria Memorial Gold Medal. He then completed advanced craniofacial orthodontic training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 2000 and the clinical orthodontic fellowship at Canada’s renowned Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, in 2001. He returned to India to share his skills and knowledge with orthodontics students in India and to provide treatment to the population in his hometown, Chandigarh. He was an assistant professor of orthodontics at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, till 2006, when he accepted a faculty position at the University of Toronto. Dr Suri is a tenured associate professor of orthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and staff orthodontist at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, where he provides orthodontic treatment to children with severe malocclusions. Dr Suri has also completed the fellowship examination of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is registered as a certified specialist in orthodontics with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He also has a M Orth of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (UK) and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examinations in orthodontics, New Delhi, and Diplomate of the Indian Board of Orthodontics. He has received numerous academic and clinical awards in his professional career, including the American Society of Association Executives’ prestigious Gold Circle Award for authoring the Best Scientific Article published by any professional association in North America, and the Dr Prem Prakash Memorial Award for the Best Treated Case presented at the board certification examination to the Indian Board of Orthodontics. Dr Suri’s work has been published in internationally renowned scientific journals including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, The Angle Orthodontist, Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal, Journal of Craniofacial Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also serves on the editorial review boards of several internationally reputed peer-reviewed orthodontic journals.
