Dr. Raj Chopra

I am Dr. Chopra! Welcome to the practice. I am a dentist in the Brampton and Mississauga area. I began my dental career at the University of Western Ontario where I graduated in 2000. Following my first year of practice, I continued to build on my dental education by completing a dental residency at the Medical College of Ohio Hospital. From Ohio, I moved on to get hospital surgical experience in Brooklyn, New York where I worked within the North Brooklyn Health Network Hospital system. I then went on to complete a mini-residency program at the prestigious Misch International Implant Institute. I place great emphasis on being an honest, gentle, and caring dentist. I intend to treat my patients and not just their teeth. I passionately believe in direct patient education and do all complimentary consultations personally, taking the time to answer questions and explain all options available to prospective patients. When I am away from the office, you will find me on the basketball court, at the gym, or traveling around the world with my family. Although I will always tell you that I am living my dream job, you may find it interesting that my secret dream is to be a part-time chef! I love to cook and prepare a lavish meal at home for my family or, while dining at a restaurant, making notes on a new dish so I can experiment with it at home.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I have been able to complete extensive hours of additional training in several areas of dentistry such as oral surgery, periodontics, and implantology. I routinely perform implant procedures, gum and bone grafts, sinus elevation surgeries, complex endodontics, and impacted wisdom teeth removals. I was recently featured in the Ontario Dentist journal for my work with implants and implant restorations and it makes me proud to know that we hardly have to refer patients out, making sure they can be treated in a familiar environment.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I have a special interest in the comprehensive rehabilitation cases. It allows me to help give people the confidence to smile again after sometimes years of anxiety to visit the dentist. As a consequence, I have a keen interest in the management of dental-phobia for anxious patients through the use of advanced sedation techniques
