I attended a dental appointment with Dr. Michael Dounel on [insert date] at [insert clinic name and location if known]. During this visit, Dr. Dounel performed a dental examination and informed me that I would need to see an orthodontist to have a previous root canal redone. He provided me with a referral for further evaluation and treatment by a specialist. While I was at the appointment, I asked Dr. Dounel two questions related to my condition and the referral. He responded by saying “ Don’t ask me those questions , those questions are for the orthodontist not for me” in a nasty tone. Although I was surprised by the tone of the response, I did not argue and allowed the matter to move on. As the appointment concluded, I attempted to inform him that I needed a written statement or visit summary confirming my appointment in order to receive a gift card reward through OpenCare. Before I could finish my sentence, he interrupted me. I then calmly stated that I felt he was being rude and asked if I could please finish speaking. After I completed my explanation, he stated that he does not provide visit summaries and would only give me the referral and his business card. I was not given a printed visit summary or treatment notes, but I did receive: • A referral to an orthodontist • Dr. Dounel’s business card I am submitting photos of both items as proof that I attended this dental visit. Overall, I found the interaction to be dismissive and discourteous, particularly when I was attempting to ask questions and request basic documentation of my visit.

I believe that Dr Dounel knows his profession very well. He seemed a bit rushed and slightly irritated though. Maybe it was because of staffing, because he was working the front desk when I arrived which isnt normal from other offices Ive been.
