Dr. Julie M. Gillis

Julie M. Gillis, D.D.S., has been practicing cosmetic and restorative dentistry in Grand Junction, Colorado since 1989. In addition to being a member of local, state, and national dental organizations, Dr. Gillis is an Accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the largest association of dentists specializing in cosmetic dentistry in the world. She was the first dentist from Colorado to achieve this honor. Accreditation is earned by the demonstration of excellent skills in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry before an international panel of accredited dentists. Dr. Gillis was selected and now serves as a consultant and examiner for future candidates seeking accreditation. Dr. Gillis’ undergraduate education was at the University of Colorado in Boulder where she received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and Architecture in 1983. For the next two years she worked as an entry level architect and illustrator for firms in and around Denver. Dr. Gillis was accepted at the University Of Colorado School Of Dentistry in 1985 and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1989 graduating at the top of her class. After completing advanced clinical training rotations in 1989, Dr. Gillis began practice as an associate in Grand Junction, Colorado. After two years she was ready to purchase office space and start her own private practice. Moving into a solo practice has allowed her patients to receive the staff attention they deserve and has allowed her practice to grow and evolve around her philosophy of providing excellent, comprehensive dental care. Dr. Gillis works with seven talented staff members in a high-tech, four treatment room office. Their mutual goal is to provide the highest quality dental care for their patients in a clean, caring, and comfortable environment. Digital intraoral imaging, streaming patient education, and computerized patient charts allows the staff to provide patients with customized information for their particular dental needs. Cameras in each treatment room provide patients the opportunity to actually see and evaluate their own mouths on a monitor and assist in making treatment decisions that are correct for them. To maintain the highest quality of care for her patients, Dr. Gillis attends over 100 hours of continuing education per year. This allows her practice to grow with the evolving techniques and materials available today. Dr. Gillis’ extensive training and experience in the expanding field of cosmetic dentistry allows her to use both science and artistry to help individuals create beautiful smiles. Dr. Gillis’ hobbies include painting, cooking, exercise, and enjoying free time with her husband Russ and their two wonderful children, Jessica and Lewis.
