About
I am Dr. Nealis and I would like to welcome you to our downtown Chicago practice. I am honored to practice dentistry here on Michigan Avenue near the historic Chicago Water Tower landmark. As an engineer by training and the son of an artist, I think I am able to bring a unique perspective to dentistry. My original studies in engineering allow me to nurture a rich understanding of new high-tech tools and approaches to advanced dentistry. The technical knowledge is balanced by my fascination with the theory of color and shape which I learned from my mother. When I put a critical eye to cosmetic dental procedures I am able to simultaneously combine strong aesthetics with function and durability to create beautiful, healthy smiles. When I am not at the clinic, I work as a volunteer. For example, recently I traveled to South America to provide dental care to the people that most need it in Pachacutec, a small city in the heart of Peru
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
In an effort to become the best dentist possible, I made sure my education didn’t end with graduation from dental school. I have stayed abreast with the ever-evolving field of dentistry by attending hundreds of seminars, courses, symposiums and by constantly reading textbooks and journals. Staying up to date with new techniques, materials and technology is a critical ingredient of modern dentistry. This constant striving for knowledge is part of my nature. Having served at the faculty of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, Loyola University College of Dentistry and Triton College Department of Laboratory Technology early in my career I have had the opportunity to better grasp the basic concepts of dentistry. Exchanging knowledge with my colleagues is important because dentistry has evolved into such a complex profession that no one dentist has all the ideas.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
I focus on general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
What are you proud of in your practice?
I have learned over the past 30 years that I alone cannot create a great dental service. I must surround myself with a talented, dedicated support team. I’m proud to say that I’ve succeeded in finding outstanding, sensitive people to care for my patients’ many concerns.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy seeing all patients that come to the practice. Each patient is unique, and I thoroughly enjoy getting to know you on a personal level so we can build a treatment plan that works.
