Dr. Alan Esla is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He completed his education at prestigious UCLA schools of Dentistry and Medicine. Following completion of general surgery internship and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UCLA, he moved to Bakersfield in 2001. Medical Organizations and societies have recognized Dr. Esla and his knowledge and quality of patient care. Dr. Esla specializes in various areas of Oral Surgery specializing in dental implants, bone grafting, extractions and maxillofacial trauma. He brings with him a caring and compassionate manner along with sound surgical skills and judgment. Dr. Esla is a fellow of the American and California Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the Kern County Dental Society of which her was the president of in 2008.Aside from work, he enjoys various sports, travelling and spending time with his wife of 15 years, Stephanie and their son Sean. Dr. Olena Norris will be joining Oral and Facial Specialists. Olena comes to Bakersfield from Boston and will reside here full time along with her husband James and their seven year old son Nicholas. A Magnum Cum Laude graduate in Biochemistry from California State University Fullerton, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry. After completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship at Harvard/MGH, she completed her residency at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. A native of Ukraine, she attended Kiev National Medical University, prior to immigrating to US. Olena enjoys performing all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including dent-alveolar, implant surgery, as well as general anesthesia. She has made multiple trips to both Mexico and Ukraine for humanitarian reasons for particular interest in correction of untreated facial clefts.
